The season of chilly nights and frosty mornings are upon us in the Pacific Northwest, and The Salmon Center’s U-Pick garden is currently getting cleaned up and prepped for the winter months ahead. Although the time of year for abundant produce in our certified organic u-pick garden is winding down, there is still produce that is available to be picked. We currently have Swiss Chard, Lettuce, Fava Beans, and Lemon Cucumbers that are available to be picked fresh from the garden. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so keep our produce in mind as you begin to plan your holiday meals. Bringing a side dish or salad to a holiday party soon? Our certified organic Swiss Chard makes for a delicious and colorful salad. Saute some of our crisp Fava Beans in olive oil and garlic for a tasty side dish, or put them in a soup to be enjoyed on a rainy fall night!
