Weaving Wisdom 2012 with Karen Lahn
Summer Sustainable Learning at the Farm at Water’s Edge
Spend the summer engaging in gardening, craft-making, writing, reading, mathematics, and science activities. The goal is to provide quality learning experiences disguised as FUN. We’ll use the garden as a growing lab, we’ll amend the soil, and maintain a vegetable garden. Each kid will have their own plot and reap the harvest. We’ll visit a local dairy, and spend time with the animals (chickens, alpacas) here at the farm, we’ll spin alpaca fiber into yarn, make bird houses, yard art, pickles, and salsa and hold a “market” at the farm. We’ll do some reading, learn a little about photography and do a little journaling. The possibilities are endless!
