Come lend a hand at The Salmon Center!
Spring is here and it’s that time of year to start working on your garden beds. All 10 of our new concrete raised garden beds have been purchased but now they must be built! We will need help laying down sand, arranging concrete blocks, and filling beds with compost. Please wear clothing and footwear for muddy conditions and bring a water bottle. For new or perspective P-Patch owners, count these volunteer hours towards your 12 mandatory hours of volunteering with us. Come join us in constructing these beautiful raised beds and get to know other P-Patch owners. Coffee and light snacks provided. Children welcome!
There are still plenty of 10x10ft in-ground P-Patch plots available for purchase. Plots are just $25 for the year. All community garden plots are certified organic, meaning no added chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Salmon Center P-Patch owners are welcome to store and borrow tools for working on their plots, use our on-site compost and fresh alpaca manure, and enjoy gardening next to community members on a beautiful estuary.
Join us in constructing The Salmon Center’s first-ever raised beds!
