Our P-Patch Program has grown significantly since it was established in 2013. The Salmon Center aims to provide access to land for community members who have an interest in organic gardening to grow their own produce. This program also aims to develop self-reliance and improve nutrition through education and hands-on experience. Community members come together to manage and care for the garden cooperatively while producing healthy, locally-grown organic food. The plots are private 5′ x 12′ raised beds that are leased for a small annual fee with a 12 hour service requirement of volunteer work towards the communal spaces and in our community U-Pick Garden.
The plots are $25 per plot for the 2018 growing season and include access to compost material and water.
We will be kicking off the growing season with a mandatory orientation and potluck May 15 from 5-6pm in the Salmon Center classroom.
