Salmon Center Names New Executive Director

Ms. Mendy Harlow, Executive Director

The Salmon Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Mendy Harlow as Executive Director effective July 12, 2013.  Ms. Harlow, a 10-year employee of the Salmon Center, holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife, Watershed, and Rangeland Resources from the University of Arizona.  This appointment serves as a promotion from Mendy’s current role as Assistant Director and Project Manager of the organization.  Her experience covers the breadth of Salmon Center activities, including education, grants management, and communications.  Ms. Harlow exemplifies the passion that the Salmon Center staff has for the environment.

Tom Brown, Board Chairman, states that “Mendy’s experience in this field is very impressive as is her dedication to our mission.  The board of directors is thrilled to promote Mendy into the leadership role.”

Ms. Harlow succeeds Mr. Ted Smith who has accepted a position as Executive Director with the Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor.  The Salmon Center Board thanks Mr. Smith for his extraordinary service as Executive Director and wishes his great success as he pursues his passion for history.

“I am very pleased with the board’s decision to ask Mendy Harlow to become the new Executive Director.  She will do a fabulous job and will hit the ground running,” states Ted Smith, outgoing Executive Director.
