Theler Trail Cleanup This Saturday!

To honor Kiwanis’ one-hundred year celebration of world wide community service, the Kiwanis Club of North Mason is creating a unified “One-Day” community approach to improve the grounds and trails at our local Theler Center.  This Saturday, April 18th from 9:00-3:00,  all non-profit groups, local businesses, churches, youth groups, local schools, and interested citizens are encouraged to bring their garden tools, gloves, and appropriate attire for weather conditions to help bring the Theler Center’s planting areas, exhibit areas, and trails back to acceptable conditions.

On April 18th from 10:00-12:00 there will be a 5K run on Theler trails.  Because of this scheduled event, work areas have been designated for morning and afternoon work times.  For more information about this Kiwanis “One-Day” community event, please go on-line at, click on Events, and review the information.  You can register on-line for this Theler Center “One-Day” community service project at or at the Theler Center beginning at 9:00 on April 18th.  Volunteers will be served lunch by BJ’s Catering Service with support by the North Mason Kiwanis Club from 11:00-12:00.  A limited number of T-Shirts sponsored by Kiwanis’ Key Club members at North Mason High School will be available.

Because there is so much work to be done on Theler Center planting areas and wetland trails, interested non-profit organizations, businesses, youth groups, and individuals will have an opportunity to adopt an area for continued maintenance.  The Theler Center Adopt-An-Area Program  is designed like the state’s Adopt-A-Highway Litter Program.  There will be about 15-20 areas available for adoption beginning on April 18th.  If you or your group want to adopt an area for continued maintenance, please inform the people at the registration desk on April 18th.  If you or your group want to adopt an area after April 18th, please contact Joan Moore at the Theler Center or by phone at (360) 275-4898.

Questions about the North Mason School District and North Mason Kiwanis Club’s community service project at the Theler Center on Saturday, April 18th should be directed to Del Morton at (360) 275-2523 or to Tamra Ingwaldson at (360) 265-1719unnamed
