Capitol Land Trust has a new series called “Restoration and Exploration” that takes place every Friday from 9AM- 12PM, now through December 18th. Join their Restoration Coordinator to help remove invasive species from important local ecosystems, all while visiting some of their seldom seen properties and viewing beautiful habitats such as upland forests, wetlands, and salt marshes. These events will take place rain or shine, so please be prepared with adequate clothing and a positive attitude! All ages and experience levels are welcome and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information about this wonderful volunteer opportunity, please email Andrew Wilkens at email@example.com. You can also find detailed descriptions of each day of the series on Capitol Land Trust’s event page by visiting http://www.capitollandtrust.org/pages/events.html
The Salmon Center garden’s also need some TLC as we prep the plots for the cold winter months ahead. If you’d like to volunteer in our garden and help our AmeriCorps Sustainability Coordinators with their garden duties, please contact either of our AmeriCorps members to coordinate a time to come in an volunteer. They can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. The Salmon Center is a Shop Local participating business and if you volunteer 5 hours with our organization, we will sign your Shop Local card, which can be picked up at the North Mason Chamber office or at The Salmon Center. Once your card has been signed or stamped at four different Shop Local participating businesses your name will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift certificate redeemable at any Shop Local participating business.
